About Kefalonia
With a population of 32,000, Kefalonia or ‘Cephalonia’ is the largest of the Ionian Islands, the capital being the town of Argostoli. The Island is the sixth largest in Greece covering some 737sq kilometres and has 254 km of coastline enjoying a typically Mediterranean climate. The winters are mild, with temperatures usually rising above 5 degrees. By contrast, summers are dry and hot with negligible rainfall in July and August.
